My Halloween Costume | Scarecrow Girl

Hello my dear readers!

We’ve entered November and we are one step away from winter! Last weekend was Halloween and even though we don’t really celebrate it where I live, I wanted to feel the halloweeny atmosphere. So, I dressed up, took some photos, and watched Halloween films. The next day, my boyfriend & I had a lovely Halloween brunch with our friends (Thank you!!! if you’re reading)

I also filmed a little tutorial of this costume and you can watch it below 🙂

How was your Halloween? What did you dress up as?

Have a great weekend,

What I Ate Today, and a Little Update

Hello my dear readers!

Greetings from Denmark! At the beginning of August my boyfriend and I packed our stuff, dumped it all in the car and drove apx. 2000 km all the way to Odense, Denmark! Since that moment, our days have been hectic and our minds full of to do lists.

On the 1st September I started Uni, for which I am both nervous and excited.

And I also got my first job ever here.

This Sunday however, I finally had a relaxing day all to myself and I made sure I take full advantage of it.

I started out the day with a nice cup of milk and biscuits – such a delight!

Then I organised the room a bit as I wanted a nice and clean space where I can fully relax, took a hot shower and listened to music to which I danced around awkwardly. It’s a good thing nobody saw me (or so I hope!).

Lunch was… To die for! My bf’s brother went grocery shopping in the morning and picked up a lot of goodies, most of which were also on sale. So, we quickly whipped up a  yum burger and crispy fries and dug in!

One thing I really wanted to do today was to bake a little cake, and I was craving my mom’s apple cake so bad that I had to make it myself. I don’t mean to brag, but it turned out pretty good!

The neighbourhood where we live is on the outskirts of the city, surrounded by nature, and so in the afternoon I took a walk, breathed in the clean and crisp air, and marveled at the beauty of it all. I can’t wait to see what this place looks like in winter!

The rest of the day was mostly spent laying in bed, watching YouTube videos and reading blog posts of course! This was also the day I rediscovered Marzia (aka CutiePieMarzia). Her videos are perfection!

The evening ended with a delicious pita bread with garlic and tomato & veggies sauce, plus the comforting apple cake for dessert.

It’s been a few weeks since I last posted anything and I have to say… I’ve missed blogging so much! And I’ve definitely missed chatting to you in the comments 💔 For now, I still can’t promise weekly blog posts, as the moving and adjusting process is taking a pretty long time. However, I hope you’re all doing very well, I hope you’ve had a great Sunday, and I’ll see you soon!

Have a lovely start of the week,

My answers

1. What is your middle name?

My middle name is Madalina.

2. Biggest fear?

Hm… My biggest fear is reaching the end of my life and having regrets. We only have one life and we need to do the things that make US happy. Better an oops than a what if!

3. What do you admire most in other people?

I usually try to find inspiration in anyone and anything. The things that I admire in others is their strength to face difficulties, their charm, creativity and kindness.

4. Are you someone who is always late or always early?

I used to be an extremely punctual kid (I would arrive at school half an hour before the classes even started), but gradually that changed. Nowadays I’m always in a hurry to do something or to get somewhere. Sometimes I make it on time… and sometimes i don’t :(.

5. What post has been your favorite to make?

As much as I love putting outfits together and posing for the camera, I have to say that my absolute favorite post to make was the A ONE-DAY TRIP TO SIGHISOARA, ROMANIA one. Travelling is such a dream come true and every time I get the chance to discover a new place, I take full advantage of it.

6. Why did you start blogging?

Ever since I was little I liked to write and as soon as I found out you could have a blog, I wanted to do it. I went through a lot of trials and errors but now I am determined to make it work. The main reason why I love blogging is because I get to connect with wonderful people all over the world, I can speak openly about whatever’s on my mind, and I get to channel my creativity into something that will be there forever for me to look back on. That’s why I started  blogging :).

7. What is your best childhood memory?

One of the things I loved the most when I was little was spending the Summer vacation at my aunt’s place in Brasov. My cousin and I would have ice cream every day, we would play around in the garden, go on walks in the city, and celebrate our birthdays together. ❀

8. Are you an early bird or a night owl?

Since I was a kid I loved staying up late and watching movies or tv series (or youtube) and that habit continued all throughout my adolescence too. Now that I finally realized how important sleep is and how beneficial it is to wake up early, I have been struggling to change my habit. I’m still in my transition phase, but I aim at becoming a very early bird.

9. What is your favorite word?

I consider doggy and Christmas my favorite words because there can’t be and instance when someone mentions one of those two words and my face doesn’t light up. For me, they represent happiness.

10. If you could talk to anyone in history, who would you choose?

This is a tough one… I could pick A. Hitler and ask him what in the world was he thinking, that could be interesting. But I want to choose Audrey Hepburn. She’s my inspiration when it comes to fashion, style, elegance, but mostly so when it comes to following my dreams, spreading kindness and being the best me I can be.

11. What is your favorite thing about yourself?

The thing that I like most about myself is the fact that I am a curious person. I like to discover things and places, and to constantly learn something new.  But that also means that a lot of times I’m quite nosy. Oops!

My questions for you

1. What inspires you to write on your blog?

2. What 3 emojis best represent your personality?

3. What is a quote you absolutely live by?

4. What’s your favorite blog post you’ve written?

5. What are your favorite flowers?

6. If someone made a movie inspired by you/ your life, what would it be called?

7. Coffee or tea?

8. What is your go to outfit?

9. What did you want to become when you were little?

10. What is one place you’ve never been but you would love to go to?

11. What type of blog posts do you enjoy reading the most?

I nominate…

Girl Missguided at GIRL MISSGUIDED

And I nominate and encourage all of you guys who are reading this to make a Liebster Award blog post! And if you do, let me know, I would love to read your answers ♡.

Once again, many thanks to Carly for the nomination and I will see all of you next week, with another blog post!

A One-Day Trip to Sighisoara, Romania

Hello my dear readers,

Last Wednesday I got the chance to go on a short trip to one of the most beautiful cities of Romania, Sighisoara. Travelling is something that I enjoy a lot but also something that I don’t get to do enough, so I was extremely grateful for this opportunity.

Located in the heart of Transylvania, Sighisoara is such a picturesque city, with paved little streets and historical buildings, and it is even listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Sighisoara is especially known for the well preserved towers which offer plenty of beautiful cityscapes. The atmosphere is calm, people are friendly, and if you like to socialize, you can definitely find fellow travelers with whom you can share a meal or a nice talk.

Speaking of food, there are plenty of restaurants to choose from and my recommendation is that you choose traditional Romanian food like Polenta with Chese (Mamaliga cu Branza) or Stews (Tocana), Soups (Ciorba), Cabbage Rolls (Sarmale) just to name a few.

Here are some photos from my little trip and if my description didn’t convince you of how amazing Sighisoara is, maybe they will:

Thank you for reading, and have a wonderful week!

My Pamper Routine | Summer 2017

Hello my dear readers,

Today I want to share with you all the little things I like to do that make me feel full on pampered.

I think it’s so important to take care of ourselves, but sometimes we just get so caught up in our everyday lives, that we tend to neglect our bodies and our overall health. That’s why I usually like to set a day per week when I allow myself to relax and forget about everything.

1. Set the Mood

Before I start the pampering process, I need to set the mood with some enjoyable sounds. I either put on some music (been loving the La La Land soundtrack lately), a podcast, or an audiobook.

2. It’s Time to Get Dirty (or Oily)

The first thing I make sure to do is use castor oil and olive oil on my locks. My hair had been getting so dry and frizzy (if you take a look at my New Year’s pics you’ll know what I’m talking about), that I had to do something about it. So I thought I’d try the cheap and easy way first, before I went all out and spent big bucks on possibly inefficient products.

So first, I massage castor oil in my scalp and at the roots of my hair. Second, I use olive oil on the rest of my hair, especially at the ends.

I have to tell you, I’ve started seeing some results and I’m quite impressed! I’ll keep you posted.

3. Just Relax, Have Some Fun

The downside to going all naturelle with your hair treatment is that you can’t be done with it in five minutes. I usually leave the oils in my hair for 3 to 4 hours. Of course that’s not always the case, but I try to stick to it when I can. So during those few hours I either watch some videos on youtube, read some blog posts, or I like to be a bit crazy sometimes and clean my room and change the bed sheets (fresh and clean bed sheets feel like heaven). You know, just for fun. But really, if you can’t afford to spend that many hours just relaxing, you could use this spare time to do some chores around the house, or bake a treat!

4. That Time When it Gets Steamy

Once those few hours have passed, I get clean underwear and my jammies ready and hop straight in the shower. I’m totally the kind of person who spends way too much time in the shower, but it feels so gooood!! And it’s also good for your face because you get to wash it wery well and your pores also open just in time for the next step.

5. Boo!

As you were probably able to guess it from the picture, the next step in my pamper routine is to put on a face mask and leave it on for about 15-20 mins, and in the meantime I make myself a nice and warm cup of tea.  The mask I used this time is from a Korean brand and I can’t say enough good thing about it.

After the specified time has passed, I take the mask off and make a little face massage, cause our face truly deserves a bit of TLC for all the stuff (aka makeup, creams, dust etc.) they have to put up with every day. If you want so see how it’s done, here is a link to a tutorial of youtuber & blogger Annie Jaffrey, where she shows how to give yourself a face massage that’s both very relaxing, and sooo beneficial too.

6. Can it Get any Better than This?

Yeah, it can! Once I’m done with the face massage and my tea is just good to drink, I get out my nail polishes, snuggle up in bed, and put on a film. You can go all out and get snacks and all kinds of yummy stuff, but you get the idea. It’s the perfect ending to a perfect day!

I hope you try installing a pamper day in your schedule too if you don’t already have one. Let me know how it goes! And I’d love to know what your favourite way to pamper yoursef is.

Thank you for reading,

Spring Favourites 2017 | Things I Have Been Loving

Hello my dear readers,

Today I am going to talk about all the things that I’ve been loving throughout Spring. These past few months have been quite some eventful ones, with ups and downs and a lot of changes, so as the weeks were going by I was discovering new things and I realised I might as well share them with my readers. I thought I would turn this into a regular thing, so from now on, I’ll write a favourites post every season.

1. Beautiful Nudes and Shades of Pink

  • Clarins Nail Polish in shade Hazelnut – my go-to when I don’t have enough time to contemplat on what colour I should put on my nails, or when I need something that goes with everything. Beautiful shade and good quality formula.
  • Estee Lauder Nail Polish in shade Rosa Rosa – pink nail polish screams Spring for me, though surprisingly enough, I find myself wearing this quite a lot in Autumn too, as it goes very well with earthy colours.
  • MaxFactor Liquid Lipstick in shade 190 – LOVE it! It’s been my staple all throughout Winter and still going strong through Spring. I should also mention that it dries matte, which is why it could result in you having chapped lips, so make sure you moisturize properly.
  • Alda Lip Liner – a beautiful coral pink, perfect for Spring and Summer looks. I like the consistency of this product, it’s hard enough to have good precision, but creamy enough so not to hurt your lips.

2. Farmec Nail Treatment

About a year ago I was recommended this product by a friend of mine, and in my utter desperation to have strong, beautiful and long nails, i bought is. It didn’t even cost much, but I was convinced it wouldn’t work. Boy, was I wrong!

What you have to do is use it once a day for at least a week, and preferably not wear nail polish during this time. After a week or two of following this treatment, you can start painting your nails and just use the nail strengthener once a week or before you put on nail polish. I did this in the first month or so and I got amazing results.

I didn’t use it for probably over a year and my nails have been great. But now they’ve become a bit weak so I’ve started using it again and I can already see how the product is working its magic.

3. Asian Face Masks

Months ago I received some Chinese face masks from my friend and I just got around to using them, and then a few weeks ago I also purchased a Korean face mask. Both types are for moisturizing and rejuvenating the face and I was surprised to see that they really work. I tend to have dry skin (who else struggles with drinking enough water?), so to see that I finally found an easy and enjoyable solution to this is awesome! I hope you try it out, even if it’s just for fun.

4. Hats

They’ve become my favourite accessories not only for Spring, but for all year round. I find that a hat makes an outfit so much more sophisticated and interesting, and helps making your face the focal point. I’ve really been into berets and I’ve been using these very cute fluffy ones that I got some time ago for Christmas (featured in this post). I have yet to find a classic black or red one because my head is so small, so if you know of any places where you can get small(er) hats pleaaase let me know! The other hat that I’ve been wearing nonstop, especially during rainy days, is this corduroy cap (outfit post coming up very soon!!).

5.  Podcasts

Something that has become a habit for me every time I clean my room or I’m getting ready for the day, is to listen to podcasts. A few weeks ago I discovered this app called Player Fm (it’s the one with the red and white circle), where you can find so many shows and you can subscribe to the ones you like and want to listen to. You can also choose the topics you’re interested in and you get suggestions based on your interests.

Well that is it for this Spring. I’d love to hear about one item you loved this season and the reason you’re so in love with it.

Have a wonderful week,

I Got In! Let the Adventure Begin!

Hello my dear readers,

It’s been a long time since I last posted on the blog, but today I’m back and I’m bringing exciting news!

The past few months have been quite some eventful ones but it was also a time for me to think about my life and what I want to do, and after a lot of deliberation, now it is the time to take action.

In March I applied for an Academy (which is like a college) in Denmark. On Friday, after so much waiting, I finally got the results, and as you can see in the photo, I got in!

Therefore, at the end of August I will be moving there and I will be documenting my move here on my blog and maybe on my youtube channel as well. If you’d like me to write a post about a certain topic, please let me know in the comments and I will be happy to deliver ^^.

The other good news it that I have planned a lot of blog post ideas and from now on, I will be posting every Monday evening. If you want to be reminded/notified every time when I post, you can enter your email on the right side of the page. I would like to assure you that if you decide to enter your mail, you will not receive spam and will only receive a mail notifying you that there is a new post here on my blog.

I’m very excited to begin this new chapter in my life and I hope you join me on this adventure.

Have a beautiful week and I will see you next Monday,

How to Have the Best Year

Hello, lovelies! We have entered the new year and that means most of us have an entire list of things that we want to accomplish by the end of January 2017. I have a list too, and this time I set my mind to really do my best to cross (almost?) everything off it. In this post I’m going to share with you some tips that I have learned along the way and that I am ready to put to good use this year, in order to have the BEST YEAR YET!
I am a strong believer that a tidy home means a clear mind. So whenever I enter a new year, I like to clean my house and get rid of everything I don’t need anymore. And if you’re anything like me, you know you just can’t study if your desk isn’t organised.
I have exams coming up in a few weeks, so just a couple of days ago I made sure I got rid of any unnecessary things on/in my desk and I prepared my space so that I would have a clean and organised environment.
When you make a decision to have the best year, you need to know what you want. There are some that have no problem with this, but others really struggle to find the things that they truly want to do in their lives. My advice? ask yourself the following questions:
If you could choose one thing to accomplish this year, what is it? Imagine yourself at the  2018 New Year’s party, now what is it that you’re really proud of having accomplished?
And when you think fast forward to the last day of your life, what are the things you’re really happy you got the chance to do? Do you have any regrets?
These are questions that never fail to put me face to face with my reality and realize I have so may things to look forward to and to work towards.
When you ask yourself these questions, get a piece of paper and write down the answers, and based on these answers you are able to determine a life vision and your 2017 goals.
One of my favourite things to do as I’m crossing into the new year is a vision board. I do this based on my goals that I’ve set. There are a couple of ways in which you can do yours, but I prefer to do it on my computer, as it looks more neat and clean. Another tip is to make categories, like Career, Relationships, Personal etc., and add a few photos for each category.
Sometimes life just gets a little too much to handle, so it’s important to have a few tricks up your sleeve that can help you overcome those stressful times. I deal best with these situations when I have a clear schedule to follow, and that’s why, I have a planner for everything: schoolwork, blog, youtube, personal etc.
This year I plan on raising some money and travel a bit, so I’ve made 3 envelopes: in the first one I raise money for myself, in the second one both my boyfriend and I chip in, an din the third I gather receipts.
That’s it for today’s blog post. If you want to find some more details you can watch the video above. I hope this information was helpful and I wish you all the best year! Talk to you soon!

My Birthday

On the 10th August I turned 21 years old. WAW! It’s scary how fast time is passing by. I still feel like a 16-year-old child who knows nothing about life and still believes in fairytale-like love stories. The ‘older’ I get, the more I wish I could go back to my childhood, when I would read storybooks, I would play with toys, and I would watch cartoons (‘Life with Louie’, anyone?). Yeah
The years have gone in an instant and here I am, in college, stressing even in my holidays about studying, and projects and other responsibilities.

Uh oh.. I kind of let myself get carried away with my thoughts, but now I want to share with anyone interested a few photos from that day.

I didn’t organize anything special, a very dear friend of mine, who I hadn’t seen in about a year (long story) came over, and we talked a lot, ate junk food (more than there are in the photos
woopsie!) and, to celebrate the end of my childhood in style, we got a bottle of champagne for children!

Don’t be scared! It’s just us, after we put makeup on eachother blindfolded. It was such a fun thing to do, I definitely reccommend that you try that with your friends ;).
