Hello my dear readers! We’ve entered November and we are one step away from winter! Last weekend was Halloween and even though we don’t really celebrate it where I live, I wanted to feel the… More
Hello my dear readers,
Last Wednesday I got the chance to go on a short trip to one of the most beautiful cities of Romania, Sighisoara. Travelling is something that I enjoy a lot but also something that I don’t get to do enough, so I was extremely grateful for this opportunity.
Located in the heart of Transylvania, Sighisoara is such a picturesque city, with paved little streets and historical buildings, and it is even listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Sighisoara is especially known for the well preserved towers which offer plenty of beautiful cityscapes. The atmosphere is calm, people are friendly, and if you like to socialize, you can definitely find fellow travelers with whom you can share a meal or a nice talk.
Speaking of food, there are plenty of restaurants to choose from and my recommendation is that you choose traditional Romanian food like Polenta with Chese (Mamaliga cu Branza) or Stews (Tocana), Soups (Ciorba), Cabbage Rolls (Sarmale) just to name a few.
Here are some photos from my little trip and if my description didn’t convince you of how amazing Sighisoara is, maybe they will:
Thank you for reading, and have a wonderful week!
Hello my dear readers,
Today I am showing you an outfit that I wore on Saturday, on a date with my boyfriend. Because both of us have been so busy lately, we didn’t get the chance to go out in quite some time. So, this weekend we decided to spend some quality time together.
The weather was pretty nice, so we took a 2 or 3 hour walk in the central park of our city, ate ice cream and had long talks. My favourite way to spend my time.
Regarding the outfit, it might be on the top 5 outfits for Spring list. I love it! It’s a classic – black and white, denim, and a dash of animal print. And even though I did not over accessorize it, neither have I added colours, it still looks like I’ve put some effort in it and it still looks quite sophisticated. I can already tell for sure that this is an outfit that I’m going to wear a lot, and not just this year.
P.S. Please don’t mind my ghost-white skin.
Have a fashionable week,
Hello my dear readers,
Today I want to share with you all the little things I like to do that make me feel full on pampered.
I think it’s so important to take care of ourselves, but sometimes we just get so caught up in our everyday lives, that we tend to neglect our bodies and our overall health. That’s why I usually like to set a day per week when I allow myself to relax and forget about everything.
1. Set the Mood
Before I start the pampering process, I need to set the mood with some enjoyable sounds. I either put on some music (been loving the La La Land soundtrack lately), a podcast, or an audiobook.
2. It’s Time to Get Dirty (or Oily)
The first thing I make sure to do is use castor oil and olive oil on my locks. My hair had been getting so dry and frizzy (if you take a look at my New Year’s pics you’ll know what I’m talking about), that I had to do something about it. So I thought I’d try the cheap and easy way first, before I went all out and spent big bucks on possibly inefficient products.
So first, I massage castor oil in my scalp and at the roots of my hair. Second, I use olive oil on the rest of my hair, especially at the ends.
I have to tell you, I’ve started seeing some results and I’m quite impressed! I’ll keep you posted.
3. Just Relax, Have Some Fun
The downside to going all naturelle with your hair treatment is that you can’t be done with it in five minutes. I usually leave the oils in my hair for 3 to 4 hours. Of course that’s not always the case, but I try to stick to it when I can. So during those few hours I either watch some videos on youtube, read some blog posts, or I like to be a bit crazy sometimes and clean my room and change the bed sheets (fresh and clean bed sheets feel like heaven). You know, just for fun. But really, if you can’t afford to spend that many hours just relaxing, you could use this spare time to do some chores around the house, or bake a treat!
4. That Time When it Gets Steamy
Once those few hours have passed, I get clean underwear and my jammies ready and hop straight in the shower. I’m totally the kind of person who spends way too much time in the shower, but it feels so gooood!! And it’s also good for your face because you get to wash it wery well and your pores also open just in time for the next step.
As you were probably able to guess it from the picture, the next step in my pamper routine is to put on a face mask and leave it on for about 15-20 mins, and in the meantime I make myself a nice and warm cup of tea. The mask I used this time is from a Korean brand and I can’t say enough good thing about it.
After the specified time has passed, I take the mask off and make a little face massage, cause our face truly deserves a bit of TLC for all the stuff (aka makeup, creams, dust etc.) they have to put up with every day. If you want so see how it’s done, here is a link to a tutorial of youtuber & blogger Annie Jaffrey, where she shows how to give yourself a face massage that’s both very relaxing, and sooo beneficial too.
6. Can it Get any Better than This?
Yeah, it can! Once I’m done with the face massage and my tea is just good to drink, I get out my nail polishes, snuggle up in bed, and put on a film. You can go all out and get snacks and all kinds of yummy stuff, but you get the idea. It’s the perfect ending to a perfect day!
I hope you try installing a pamper day in your schedule too if you don’t already have one. Let me know how it goes! And I’d love to know what your favourite way to pamper yoursef is.
Thank you for reading,
Hello my dear readers,
I hope you’ve all had a beautiful weekend. Today I am sharing with you one of my outfits of the day from Sunday. This Spring and Summer (so far) the weather here in Romania has been crazy! One day it’s cold, one day it’s warm, one day it rains, one day it’s windy… you get the drill. But the point is no matter how many times you check the weather app, you either end up over dressed or under dressed (which is even worse).
My outfit was almost appropriate (the jacket was a bit too much) but I probably would have worn it anyway cause I like it so much.
One thing you might notice about my style if you stick around long enough is that it tends to be pretty versatile: my outfits are either very girly/feminine and elegant, or sometimes when I feel more badass I tend to wear more “cool” outfits. Sunday was one of those days and when I tried to think of a title for this post the words “Biker Chick” just popped in my head. It probably has to do with the fact that I’m wearing a biker jacket and a lot of black…
A big thank you to my goofy & wonderful boy for taking the photographer role whenever I need it and for doing such a good job at it.
Guys, this week don’t be afraid to unleash your inner rebel and be a cool badass.
Thank you for reading,
Hello my dear readers,
Today I am going to talk about all the things that I’ve been loving throughout Spring. These past few months have been quite some eventful ones, with ups and downs and a lot of changes, so as the weeks were going by I was discovering new things and I realised I might as well share them with my readers. I thought I would turn this into a regular thing, so from now on, I’ll write a favourites post every season.
1. Beautiful Nudes and Shades of Pink
- Clarins Nail Polish in shade Hazelnut – my go-to when I don’t have enough time to contemplat on what colour I should put on my nails, or when I need something that goes with everything. Beautiful shade and good quality formula.
- Estee Lauder Nail Polish in shade Rosa Rosa – pink nail polish screams Spring for me, though surprisingly enough, I find myself wearing this quite a lot in Autumn too, as it goes very well with earthy colours.
- MaxFactor Liquid Lipstick in shade 190 – LOVE it! It’s been my staple all throughout Winter and still going strong through Spring. I should also mention that it dries matte, which is why it could result in you having chapped lips, so make sure you moisturize properly.
- Alda Lip Liner – a beautiful coral pink, perfect for Spring and Summer looks. I like the consistency of this product, it’s hard enough to have good precision, but creamy enough so not to hurt your lips.
2. Farmec Nail Treatment
About a year ago I was recommended this product by a friend of mine, and in my utter desperation to have strong, beautiful and long nails, i bought is. It didn’t even cost much, but I was convinced it wouldn’t work. Boy, was I wrong!
What you have to do is use it once a day for at least a week, and preferably not wear nail polish during this time. After a week or two of following this treatment, you can start painting your nails and just use the nail strengthener once a week or before you put on nail polish. I did this in the first month or so and I got amazing results.
I didn’t use it for probably over a year and my nails have been great. But now they’ve become a bit weak so I’ve started using it again and I can already see how the product is working its magic.
3. Asian Face Masks
Months ago I received some Chinese face masks from my friend and I just got around to using them, and then a few weeks ago I also purchased a Korean face mask. Both types are for moisturizing and rejuvenating the face and I was surprised to see that they really work. I tend to have dry skin (who else struggles with drinking enough water?), so to see that I finally found an easy and enjoyable solution to this is awesome! I hope you try it out, even if it’s just for fun.
They’ve become my favourite accessories not only for Spring, but for all year round. I find that a hat makes an outfit so much more sophisticated and interesting, and helps making your face the focal point. I’ve really been into berets and I’ve been using these very cute fluffy ones that I got some time ago for Christmas (featured in this post). I have yet to find a classic black or red one because my head is so small, so if you know of any places where you can get small(er) hats pleaaase let me know! The other hat that I’ve been wearing nonstop, especially during rainy days, is this corduroy cap (outfit post coming up very soon!!).
Something that has become a habit for me every time I clean my room or I’m getting ready for the day, is to listen to podcasts. A few weeks ago I discovered this app called Player Fm (it’s the one with the red and white circle), where you can find so many shows and you can subscribe to the ones you like and want to listen to. You can also choose the topics you’re interested in and you get suggestions based on your interests.
Well that is it for this Spring. I’d love to hear about one item you loved this season and the reason you’re so in love with it.
Have a wonderful week,
Hello my dear readers,
It’s been a long time since I last posted on the blog, but today I’m back and I’m bringing exciting news!
The past few months have been quite some eventful ones but it was also a time for me to think about my life and what I want to do, and after a lot of deliberation, now it is the time to take action.
In March I applied for an Academy (which is like a college) in Denmark. On Friday, after so much waiting, I finally got the results, and as you can see in the photo, I got in!
Therefore, at the end of August I will be moving there and I will be documenting my move here on my blog and maybe on my youtube channel as well. If you’d like me to write a post about a certain topic, please let me know in the comments and I will be happy to deliver ^^.
The other good news it that I have planned a lot of blog post ideas and from now on, I will be posting every Monday evening. If you want to be reminded/notified every time when I post, you can enter your email on the right side of the page. I would like to assure you that if you decide to enter your mail, you will not receive spam and will only receive a mail notifying you that there is a new post here on my blog.
I’m very excited to begin this new chapter in my life and I hope you join me on this adventure.
Have a beautiful week and I will see you next Monday,
I hope you’ve all had a beautiful night going into the new year. I spent the last day of 2016 with my boyfriend and friends. We played games, listened to music, and ate delicious food.
Since we spent the new year at home, I wanted to wear something pretty, but comfortable at the same time:
➺Blush Sweater. It was a gift from a few years ago.
➺Pleated Skirt. I got it from a really cool shop called Pepco, and even though it was from the kids section, it fits really well. It was really cheap too, and I like the fact that it looks quite sophisticated.
➺Thigh High Boots. I tried these on in Zara a while ago, which you might have seen if you follow me on Instagram, and I fell in love with them! I was incredibly lucky and I got them as a Christmas present.
For my make up, I kept it pretty simple, with a gold eye shadow look and a red lip. With all the rush of getting ready in time, I forgot to put on mascara!
➺Lipstick from Maybelline New York, in the shade 965.Siren in Scarlet.
➺Nailpolish: Avon, in the shade Sheer Bronze.
Cheers! Till next time! 😘
Merry Christmas everyone!
For today I want to share an outerwear styling that I’ve been loving lately, especially during the holiday season. It is a look inspired by Parisian fashion (which I’ve fallen in love with btw), and I enjoy wearing it because it looks classy, elegant, and quite sophisticated.
After I made a blog post all about my birthday, it is only right that I continue by writing about all the things I got on this special day.
I don’t know how many presents people of my age usually get, but I thought I got quite a lot this year.
I will start with the clothes. One of these days I went shopping with my Mom, because we usually like to do that together, and I ended up with a few presents that I am very happy about: a big, chunky, warm sweater, which will be perfect for those cold winter days, a thin sweater, which I like just as much as the other one, a new backpack for school, cause the old one broke, and a pair of wellies.
Before that, I went shopping with my boyfriend as he needed to get thing for his leave to The Netherlands in just a few days. And because he wouldn’t have had time to get me a birthday present any other time, he got me that day a big fluffy scarf, that I can’t wait to wear.
As you can tell, all of these are autumn/winter clothes, and the main reason for that is because where I live the tperiod of time during a year when it is hot (summer) is shorter than the period of time when it is cold (autumn, winter, and usually even spring), and besides that, I don’t really like summer and the heat, so I’m definitely not as excited for buying summer clothes, and I always feel like I have enough of them and I don’t really need any more. However, when it comes to autumn and winter, I can’t wait to wear warm clothes, drink hot chocolate and hot teas, to breathe in the cold and fresh air and to enjoy the rainy days snuggled up in bed, watching a good film.♡
Beside all of these cute clothes and accessories, I also received some cool beauty products, as well as something to eat and drink
And that was everything that I got, and I say I have gotten maybe even more things than I should have! I am so grateful for all of these things and I can;t wait to start using them (although, as you can see, I couldn’t help myself from trying out that amazing lip gloss)!
Have an awesome day!
